Contagious Courage – The 10 Year Old Prayer Warrior
Welcome to another Contagious Courage.
Each month I get to introduce you to some amazing people with incredible stories of courage. It is my prayer that these stories will empower you to choose courage when you are faced with some "bigger than you" life struggles.
Meet Averi Faith Edison.
Averi States, "I started my "war room" (prayer room) about two years ago
when I was 8 1/2, because I had lots of questions for God and I decided I needed a special place to go and hear what God wants to say to me."
"Now I am 10 1/2, but I still love going to my Prayer room, because it makes me relaxed when I am mad or sad or even if I am happy it makes me more happy."
"In my war room I have a chance to be alone with God and worship in my heart and pray and listen to Gods voice when he wants me to show someone extra love. My war room is in my parents closet. I use the wall like a bulletin board to put up pieces of paper that have songs on them or, names of people to pray for or special Bible verses like...
Psalm 128:1-4
Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.
Every time I go in my war room, I tape a new piece of paper on the wall that has something written on it about what I need God’s help with. I love sharing about my War room because it gives me lots of ideas about what to pray for and be thankful for. I try to go in there every day. I am not always the best at it, but will always keep trying.
I am thankful that God loves me and that I can spend time with Him."
