Go Farther!

GO FARTHER!!!

For the longest time I doubted myself and my abilities. Always knowing I wanted to do more or be more, I finally realized that the only thing holding me back was me and my fear! But what was I afraid of? Fear of failure? Fear of people's opinions of me?

Pushing past what it “looks like” or “feels like”, my desire to do more and be more, outweighed my fears and I started going further.

At the beginning of 2015, I felt that this would be the year of Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” As I began embracing this, the results have been more than I could have ever hoped or imagined.

I have been in a wheelchair since 1999, and not only am I walking with a walker, but after 16 years, I am about to take my first steps unassisted. (Stay tuned) Now, only months away from the publishing my first book, my dreams of “Doing more! Being more!” are becoming more of a reality than I ever thought possible.

As I rediscovered my relationship with God, He showed me that I can go far in my own strength, but with Him I could go farther than I ever hoped or imagined, if I let go of my fear.

Many times I have been asked, “How do you do it?” “How do you get the strength to keep going?” or “Do you not have any fear?” My response would always be, “Of course I still have fear, I cannot do this in my own strength. My relationship with God, that I have developed through the reading of His word, is what gives me strength to “push pass” what it “feels like” and not let fear hold me back.

I think Bruce H Wilkinson said it best when he said, “People often feel that because they are afraid of something, they do not have the courage to conquer it. However, courage is not the absence of fear: rather it's choosing to act in spite of fear.”

Thank you for taking this journey with me. I value all your love and support, and now as I take this next step and continue to go farther, I look ahead with great expectation. If you would like to be kept up to date with my progress; know when my book will be published and hear about launch dates, you can add your email to my mailing list, or join my video diary on Facebook.

“He who had begun a good work in me is faithful to complete it.” Philippians 1:16
